Site visit - Mission A100
The purpose of the site visit (service A100) is to survey the current state of the site and its occupancy (buildings, structures, storage facilities, warehouses, etc.) as well as the surrounding area. To do this, it is necessary to:
- Locate and identify the type of potentially polluting facilities present, as well as the environments likely to be polluted (soil, groundwater, etc.) in the vicinity of the site;
- To gather information about the activities carried out on the site from people involved in the study area (local residents, property owners, etc.).
The purpose of the site visit is to condition the historical study and thevulnerability study, and to determine the resources required for the future field investigation campaign, depending on the potential sources of pollution identified, access conditions to the site and surface coatings.
The visit may also be used to implement emergency measures to eliminate or limit the immediate risks identified.
The A100 service is carried out according to the SSP methodology. It gives rise to a site visit sheet which includes information such as topography, the immediate environment around the site (agricultural or industrial, whether there are any sensitive establishments such as crèches or schools, the type of surrounding housing: collective, residential with garden, etc.), existing buildings on the site, industrial activity, if this has existed, any storage areas, environments likely to be polluted (air, water, etc.).), existing buildings on the site,industrial activity, if any, storage areas, potentially polluted environments (air, surface water, groundwater, soil) and any safety measures to be taken (removal of drums, canisters, implementation of containment, control of drinking water supply, etc.).
